The road to William Knight’s second octagon appearance hasn’t been an easy one, but he will make the walk once again this Saturday.
After earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in September, “Knightmare” made a quick turnaround and defeated Aleksa Camur 25 days later at UFC 253. The Thornton MMA standout would have a pair of dates to face Alonzo Menifield in February and March, but both fighters would test positive for COVID-19 along the way, which caused the promotion to make some abrupt changes. Menifield would submit newcomer Fabio Cherant at UFC 260, while Knight will now face Jung this Saturday.
In an exclusive interview, Knight joined MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck from Las Vegas to discuss the speed bumps and sacrifices he’s had to make to get to his sophomore UFC appearance, keeping his strategy and prediction for the fight with Jung a mystery, wanting the fight with Menifield rebooked for his next fight no matter what happens on Saturday, his thoughts on Ben Askren vs. Jake Paul, and more.
